Who is WINR?
Wisconsin Interfaith Needs Response, Inc. was organized by an ecumenical coalition of faith communities in the summer of 1997 to respond to unanswered needs of those in poverty; the most vulnerable in our midst.

What programs does WINR offer?

How can I contact the Donated Wheels Program?

Our address is:

WINR

How do you donate a car?
Contact the WINR office and make arrangements for delivering or having the donated car picked up. Be sure the title is clear (no attachment by any financial institutions). For tax purposes, a letter will be sent as a receipt. WINR is a 501 (a) non-profit organization in accordance with the 501 (C) 3 guidelines.

What kind of cars does WINR Donated Wheels need?
Preferred are cars, vans and trucks that are operational and have the fair market value range of $1000 and up. These vehicles will be inspected and repaired to safe operating condition before being turned over to a family.

Who generally is eligible to receive a donated car?
Applicants may apply directly or be referred by a social service agency and have filled out a WINR Donated Wheels application form. Applicants must live in Winnebago, Brown, Outagamie, Calumet or Waupaca county of the State of Wisconsin. Also, the applicants must be at 225% or below the Federal Poverty Level. [ back to top ]

Will WINR determine the value of the donated car?
No. WINR will send a receipt in the form of a thank you letter. By law, the fair market value to use for your donated car on tax return must be developed by the contributor. Newspaper ads for a similar car, banks (and other car loan institutions), used car dealers, Kelley's Blue Book, Red Book and Internet sites are all available to get a fair market value of your car.

What kind of tax savings can I expect from my car donation? You will typically get up to 40% of the fair market value of your donated car as tax savings. To be more precise, please refer to the chart to help determine your savings. [ back to top ]

Why else should I donate my car to WINR Donated Wheels?
You won't have the hassle of trying to sell your car. You'll see your car being recycled for use in area communities. And most importantly, you'll be helping someone become more self-sufficient by being able to get to work.
